English domestic season underway… kind of
It just wouldn’t be English cricket (well, unless you were trying to watch the 5th ODI between England and India) without a wet start to the season. The season opener MCC XI vs Notts (last seasons County Champs) finally got underway after a proper English drenching put paid to any cricket in the morning. England hopefuls Monty Panesar and Alastair Cook will be hoping to impress in advance of the forthcoming Sri Lanka test series.
In other news, the stereotyped stuffy-old-men-with-silly-jackets-big-beards-and-outdated-opinions reared it’s ugly head as Southport Trinity Cricket Club were issued a threat from Liverpool and District’s League Cricket management after they agreed a sponsorship deal with a local sex shop. Bloody ridiculous. What am I missing here? Is it a slippery slope? Before you can say “caught behind” they’ll be letting women into the MCC?
If Golf can bring their constitution into the current millenium (by letting women play on the Pro Tour) can Cricket do the same?
Can it bollocks.

[…] It’s true - Six and Out is alive and kicking, and goshdarnit if the timing of its launch doesn’t perfectly coincide with the first day of the English domestic season. Editorial and management genius? (Actually no… just pure fluke). […]
